3 venue operators face prosecution

The Food & Environmental Hygiene Department has initiated procedures on prosecution against three catering business and public entertainment place operators for breaching the relevant regulation to prevent COVID-19.    On February 19 and 20, the department initiated procedures on prosecution against one catering business operator in Sham Shui Po and another one in Mong Kok, suspected of breaching the requirements relating to mask-wearing and distance or partitioning between tables.   The two premises must take corresponding measures for reducing the risk of transmission on the subsequent day of being identified by the enforcement agent for three and seven days respectively.   During this period, selling or supplying food or drink for consumption on the premises must cease from 6pm to 4.59am of the subsequent day, and no more than two people may be seated together at one table.   The department also initiated procedures on prosecution on February 18 against an operator of a public entertainment place in Kwun Tong suspected of breaching the requirements relating to body temperature screening and proper display of the LeaveHomeSafe mobile app's venue QR code.   On the subsequent day of being identified by the enforcement agent, the premises concerned must close for 14 days.   During an inspection on February 19, the department found that the operator had not closed the premises as required by the regulation. It therefore initiated procedures on prosecution against the operator again.   The department reminded catering business operators and managers of public entertainment places to remain vigilant and strictly comply with the directions under the Prevention & Control of Disease (Requirements & Directions) (Business & Premises) Regulation.
