HK reports 8 COVID-19 cases

The Centre for Health Protection today said it is investigating eight additional COVID-19 cases, of which six are locally transmitted and two are imported.   Among the local cases, three have unknown sources of infection.   One of the unlinked cases involves a 26-year-old male project assistant who developed a fever on February 21 and last went to work on March 2.   The second case involves a 58-year-old male company management personnel worker. He developed a fever on March 3 and last went to work on March 5.   The remaining case involves a 27-year-old male fitness trainer at Ursus Fitness who was asymptomatic and last went to work on March 9.   The centre also reported that there are nine additional preliminary positive cases involving staff and customers at Ursus Fitness located at Units 2-4, G/F, 64-68 Pok Fu Lam Road in Sai Ying Pun.   It is investigating whether the infections are related and appeals to those who had visited the fitness centre from March 1 to 10 to call 2125 1111 or 2125 1122 as soon as possible.   A total of 224 cases have been recorded in the past 14 days, including 171 local cases of which 59 are untraceable.   For information and health advice on COVID-19, visit the Government's dedicated webpage.
