Foreign currency reserves down

Hong Kong's foreign currency reserve assets fell to US$490.6 billion in April from March's US$491.4 billion, the Monetary Authority announced today.   The reserve assets represent about seven times the currency in circulation or 47% of Hong Kong dollar M3.   There were no unsettled foreign exchange contracts in April.
