Same-day jab tickets expanded

The Government today announced that its same-day ticket arrangement for COVID-19 vaccination will be expanded from Wednesday to cover all eligible people who want to receive the jab.   Same-day tickets will be distributed daily from 7.45am on a first come, first served basis in September and October at 21 community vaccination centres. Starting from November, they will be available for distribution 15 minutes before the centres open and the last vaccination session will be held an hour before they close.   Eligible citizens can get vaccinated without a prior booking as long as there are jab quotas available at these centres.   People can collect the ticket by presenting their Hong Kong identity card at a centre or can authorise family members to collect it on their behalf by presenting a copy of the authoriser's ID card.   The schedule for receiving the second dose will be provided when they get the first jab.   The Government said the same-day ticket arrangement has been operating smoothly since its launch in July. After evaluating the actual situation, it decided to extend the arrangement to cover all people eligible for vaccination.
