No virus cases in restricted areas

The Government announced today that the compulsory testing exercises and enforcement operations for the two restricted areas in North Point and Tuen Mun finished today with no positive COVID-19 cases found.   It made restriction-testing declarations yesterday evening, requiring people within the two specified areas to stay in their premises and undergo compulsory testing.   The areas covered Maple Gardens Phase III in North Point and Block 3 of Po Tin Estate in Tuen Mun where 75 and 1,249 citizens were tested.   In the subsequent enforcement operations, about 625 people’s test records were checked. Ten people were found to have not undergone mandatory testing.   Government staff also visited around 966 households in the two restricted areas, of which some 224 did not answer the door. Such households are urged to contact the Government promptly to arrange testing.   According to the compulsory testing notices issued yesterday, those who had stayed in these two buildings within a specified period for more than two hours must undergo testing by tomorrow even if they were not in the restricted areas when the declarations took effect.
