DoJ issues email alert

The Department of Justice today appealed to the public to be alert to a fraudulent email purporting to be from the department.   The email, sent from the address cheung.kwok@hkland.co, is presented as being from “Cheung Kwok-kwan” and contains a link to a suspected malicious file.   The department emphasised that it has no connection with the fraudulent email and has reported the case to Police for further investigation.   It reminded the public not to open any suspicious emails and advised anyone who has provided personal information to the sender or clicked the link in the email to contact Police.

Testing compliance checks done

The Government today completed enforcement operations at Block 6 of Hanford Garden in Tuen Mun and Goldwin Heights at 2 Seymour Road in Mid-Levels, which were earlier included in compulsory testing notices.   The Civil Service Bureau conducted the Tuen Mun enforcement action from around 8.30am to 11.30am, while the Central & Western District Office carried out the Mid-Levels operation from around 8am to 11am.   Both actions were conducted together with Police and the Department of Health.   The Government arranged for staff to verify the testing certifications of people subject to compulsory testing at the buildings’ entrances and exits.   During the operations, the test records of about 200 people in Block 6 of Hanford Garden and about 430 people in Goldwin Heights were checked.   As a result, seven people in total were found to have violated the compulsory testing notice and were issued with a compulsory testing order.    A fixed penalty notice of $10,000 was also iss

1 COVID-19 death recorded

The Hospital Authority today said a 77-year-old male COVID-19 patient has passed away, taking the number of COVID-19 patients who died in public hospitals to 202.   The patient was admitted to the Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital on July 20 last year for isolation treatment.   His condition deteriorated and he was transferred to the hospital's intensive care unit on July 27.   After treatment, the patient's antibody test result for COVID-19 was positive and he was released from an isolation order by the Department of Health on August 28.   Due to underlying diseases, he continued to stay in the hospital and was then transferred to Grantham Hospital's Tuberculosis & Chest Medical Unit on March 22 for further treatment.   The patient's condition continued to deteriorate and he passed away this afternoon. http://dlvr.it/RxbJzj
