HK swimmer wins gold

Secretary for Culture, Sports & Tourism Kevin Yeung today congratulated Hong Kong athlete Tang Wai-lok on winning a gold medal in the Men’s 200m Freestyle S14 at the 4th Asian Para Games Hangzhou.


Athletes Cheung Tsun-lok and Wong Hon-yin earned silver and bronze in the same event, while Yu Chui-yee scored a bronze medal in the Women's Foil Individual Category A.


Mr Yeung said Hong Kong is thrilled to see Tang, Cheung and Wong being honoured on the same podium and it is a good story that is worth the city’s great applause.


“Yu has not let us down and her achievement is very much admired,” he added.


In addition to Ng Cheuk-yan's bronze in the Women's 100m Backstroke S6, the Hong Kong delegation bagged one gold, one silver and three bronze medals today.
