Around 29,000 people whose cases have been successfully reviewed will receive their first consumption voucher today, the Government said.   They will get an SMS or a mobile app push notification. They may also call 18 5000 to check the review result.   As of last Saturday, the Consumption Voucher Scheme Secretariat has received some 170,000 applications for review. Most of these applications are from people who have submitted valid claim requests for early withdrawal of their Mandatory Provident Fund or benefits under occupational retirement schemes on the ground of permanent departure from Hong Kong. About 104,000 people’s applications for review had been accepted and they got their first voucher on August 7.   The secretariat said the remaining cases are being processed. The “3+4” quarantine arrangement for arrivals to Hong Kong is not a relaxation and inbound travellers must spend three days in hotel quarantine in order to stop the spread of COVID-19 from abroad, Secretary for Health Prof Lo Chung-mau said today.   He made the remarks to reporters after attending a radio programme and explained that there is a difference between local residents who test positive for the virus and inbound travellers.   “The fact is that local residents are already in the community and are already living in their home environment. A variety show involving 62 special schools across the city was held today to showcase students’ diverse talent and celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region’s establishment.   The Education Bureau explained that the aim of the large-scale joint school event, titled “Variety Show of Special School Students - Let Your Love Shine 2022”, is to enhance the public’s understanding of special education in Hong Kong.   About 100 students joined the performances that included a dragon dance, fitness exercises, martial arts, a wheelchair dance and a piano trio.
